FAQ: Missed Session Request Notification

Q: I didn’t receive a notification for a session request and it expired. What do I do?

A: No action is required for the expired request.

If a session request expires before you can respond, it will automatically be removed from your dashboard. The student will be notified and can either resubmit the request or choose a different counselor.


🔍 Why might this happen?

Sometimes, email notifications can be missed due to:

  • Filters or spam settings in your inbox
  • Notification delays or delivery issues
  • A temporary email sync problem

📧 Tips to Prevent This Going Forward:

  • Check your spam/junk folder regularly for BetterMynd notifications
  • Add no-reply@bettermynd.com to your safe sender list
  • Log into your dashboard daily to check for pending requests, especially if you have open availability
  • Ensure your availability is up to date to avoid unexpected requests

📌 Important Note:

Session requests expire automatically if not accepted within the allowed timeframe (typically 24–72 hours). If you're on extended leave, your expiration window may be longer (see extended leave policy for details).
